We are so happy about all your submissions for the 10th Weimar Poetry Film Award! This year we received 500 films from 60 different countries. 47 of them were selected for our competition & the special programs!

Bauhaus Poetry Shorts
In this program, we’re thrilled to present poetry films made at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar last year. They’re a beautiful introduction to the Weimar animation and poetry film scene!

New Talents
We are highlighting works produced within study programmes where the poetry film genre has gained ground to experiment and explore the interplay between image and text. The selection is characterized by the freshness and curiosity of new talent, freely exploring the genre and exploiting all its potential.

Call 2025 | 10th Weimar Poetry Film AwardNext year is going to be a special year – we’ll celebrate 10 years of Weimar Poetry Film Award! 🎉 Therefore we’re looking for your poetry films which you can already submit
Filmmakers from any nation and of any age are welcome to participate with up to three short films of up to 10:00 mins which should explore the relation between film and written poetry in an innovative, straightforward way. Films produced before 2022 will not be considered.

The WinnersThe winners of the 9th Weimar Poetry Film Award
The films “Für immer” by Christian Tung Anh Nopper (Jury Award for Best Real Film) and “09.01. Berkovitch” by Anya Ryzhkova (Jury Award for Best Animation) have won this year’s Weimar Poetry Film Awards.
The films “Trains passing” (Germany, 2023) by Ani Mrelashvili, and “Oskar” (Canada, 2022) by Max Vannienschoot also received special mentions as particularly valuable films.
All festival films can still be viewed online on the festival website for a fee of 15 euros until June 15.

Silent Party at ACC GalerieSilent Party at the ACC Galery is about to happen again! You decide: dance or talk.
The party is taking place as part of the Poetryfilmtage and Lit.Collage, which are dedicated to the broad artistic field of visual-, literary- and sound-collage.
