Unexpected constellations, bold superimpositions, exciting connections – all this is collage. But how do these new combinations of found materials come about and in which direction could they develop further? In this workshop, we will work on various collages and transfer individual still images into movement using the technique of layering.
Two stop motion boxes and a professional stop motion station are available on site. Please bring scissors, pencils, sketchbook and newspapers/books/magazines of your choice, though material for collaging will be available here as well. If possible, please download the free version of the “Stop Motion Studio” app onto your own smartphone or tablet and bring it with you. Own picture templates are welcome.

Franka Sachse
She works as a freelance animation artist in Weimar. She is a founding member of the We Animate collective and a board member of AG Animationsfilm. She has been teaching animation at the Kunsthochschule Kassel since 2011. Between 2015 and 2021 she worked as a lecturer for animation at the Bauhaus University Weimar.
